An invitation to eavesdrop. A live mural painting event. Walking tours and open studios.

This fall, Groundswell youth artists are busier than ever during a series of socially engaged public art events.

This weekend, don't miss your chance to visit over 200 artist studios in Gowanus' former factories and warehouses, during the Arts Gowanus annual Open Studios 2013. Stop by Groundswell's studio at 11am on Saturday or Sunday to take part in a walking tour of significant Gowanus murals.

Join Groundswell teens, Creative Time, and the Brooklyn Museum on Saturday, October 19 as internationally acclaimed artist Suzanne Lacy transforms Brooklyn's largest stoop. Come to Park Place between Vanderbilt and Underhill Avenues for Between the Door and the Street and listen in as hundreds of women have intimate conversations about feminism today.

Finally, honor the one-year anniversary of Superstorm Sandy with Groundswell and renowned street artist Swoon. Over two weekends in October and November, Groundswell youth will paint a live mural at Sunset Park's Industry City, as part of the Come Together: Surviving Sandy exhibition.

And on October 29, we will unveil a temporary site-specific mural on the famed Bowery Mural wall, which will stand as a testament to both resilience and vulnerability, and highlight the importance of continued relief efforts by and for Sandy's victims.
