Open Engagement: Public Work, Private Lives

Groundswell Executive Director Amy Sananman moderates an intimate conversation with artists KET, Katie Yamasaki and Esteban del Valle, which explores the challenges and possibility of creating artwork in public.

In this discussion, a selection of public artists will explore the tension and possibility of creating public work while living private lives. The conversation will invite reflection on the ethos of Life/Work, asking: What is the role of privacy in the creative process? Is there a part of your work or life that you wished you never made public? How does the phenomenon of crowd-sourcing and social media inform your artistic process? What was it like to make art in public before the internet?
