Voices Her'd Visionaries Featured at the Brooklyn Museum

Categories: Events

This past Sunday, Groundswell’s Voices Her’d Visionaries team of extraordinary young women had the pleasure of participating in a panel discussion presented by the Brooklyn Museum.

The young women shared their experience creating a monumental mural in Dowtown Brooklyn with an engaged audience at the Museum’s Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art.

Check out the young women’s beautiful mural, “For Those Who Speak and Those Who Have Yet to Speak,” which celebrates women as international community.

The event was moderated by Groundswell artist Nicole Schulman, who is not only a talented public artist in her own right but a tremendous role model for these young women.

Special thanks to Dr. Elizabeth Sackler, for the invitation to participate in this conversation and share our work with a broader audience.

And congratulations to Kai, Dakota, Jennifer, and Marinique, for sharing their passion, dedication, and commitment.  As Nicole said, “The four youth artists did an excellent job not only presenting last summer's project, but intelligently discussing the issues that young women face.”

Voices Her’d Visionaries is now entering its 10th year and has proved a transformative experience for hundreds of young women by instilling confidence and a commitment to progressive action.
